The United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth (UN MGCY) is the official UN General Assembly mandated space for children and youth to engage in a number of intergovernmental and policy processes at the UN.

It has been a key player in global policy formulation since its creation in 1992, as part of Agenda 21.  From its original home in the sustainable development processes, the UN MGCY has expanded its work (in response to GA resolutions or ad hoc arrangements with UN entities) into 16 policy processes, including their implementation, follow-up, and review.  Its collective outreach expands to 170 countries and territories through over 6000 youth entities
